April 23th was marked as an important milestone for OnTracx as we revealed our newest innovation to the world. Months of research, hard work and passion resulted in a moment we eagerly waited for, the launch of our product.
Three important speakers attended our event. Their thoughts added great value to the occasion, making it even more meaningful. We were honored to welcome Julie Daelman, Sofie Bracke and Dieter Deforce as speakers for the event. Their expertise and perspectives on the importance of the product and the surrounding ecosystem within the health and running industry were very interesting.
Their contributions and the presence of all who attended, made the event truly remarkable. We want to thank all the people who came to the event and played a part in bringing this vision to life.
As we look ahead, we are excited about the possibilities that OnTracx holds. With its potential to prevent injuries and enhance performance, many runners will hopefully benefit from it. The wearable band worn around the lower leg measures the load on the bones, joints and tendons. Consequently, runners and joggers can learn more about their bodies and adjust their behaviors accordingly, making it more than just a technological advancement.
While there’s still a lot of work to be done, it was a day to be proud of and a start of a promising era in running injury prevention and rehabilitation. Two fields and adjacent markets in which we truly want to become one of the most respected players.
More than half of all runners experience overloading at least once a year, resulting in painful joints or tendons. With OnTracx, the wearable and app from Ghent University’s new spin-off, you can now easily measure your load and thus reduce the risk of injury, or speed up rehabilitation.
Is the 10% rule for increasing training volume really effective at preventing running injuries? Science says no. Discover how total load—not just mileage or duration—is the key factor in injury prevention. Learn how factors like running style, speed, surfaces, shoes, and even minor technique changes impact your body. Explore how tools like OnTracx help you measure and manage your load, track pain scores, and refine your running approach for injury-free miles.
Up to 79% of runners get injured at some point, often due to training errors. Mistakes like increasing volume, intensity, or frequency too quickly overwhelm the body’s ability to adapt. A high number of these injuries could be avoided with the right training adjustments using wearable technology for an individualized approach to load management. In this article, we’ll break down common training errors, their impact, and how to prevent them.
When it comes to running, avoiding injuries is a top priority. Among the popular guidelines is the "10% rule," which suggests increasing weekly running mileage or duration by no more than 10% to avoid overuse injuries. However, a recent study published challenges the efficacy of this widely held belief. This article examines why the 10% rule falls short in preventing injuries and highlights the importance of individualized training approaches, for safer, injury-free running.
